Ms. Myia Coleman, Instructional Coach

Ms. Myia Coleman

I am Myia Coleman, the Instructional Coach here at Jury Elementary. An Instructional Coach assists teachers with curriculum, assessment, classroom management, and lesson planning. I also serve as a mentor to newer teachers. I have been an Instructional Coach for three years. Previous to this role, I was a classroom teacher for 18 years. I taught grades 2, 3, and 5 at Twillman and Keeven Elementary. I also served as a Reading Specialist at Twillman as well. This is my 22nd year as an educator here in Hazelwood School District.

I was born right here in St. Louis. My family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana when I was a baby. I lived there until I graduated college. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I then earned my Master’s degree in Reading Education from Webster University in 2008. I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Dayton, expected graduation 2026.

I am excited to be a Jury Jaguar. I love working with our students, teachers, and families. My goal is to help our jaguars become the best students in Hazelwood School District!
